Alan has ten years consulting and investigative experience and is recognised as an expert in I.T. forensic analysis and recovery. He has frequently provided expert testimony in court, where his computer forensics evidence has been crucial for the successful resolution of litigation matters.

Alan joined International Risk from a Hong Kong based technology forensics consultancy, which he co-founded and where he spent five years as the managing director in-charge of computer forensics and data recovery. He performed complex forensics analysis and data recovery of email and file servers, laptop and desktop computers and both mobile and PDA devices.

Prior to this Alan spent five years with a multinational risk mitigation firm as their in-house IT specialist and computer forensics examiner with responsibilities throughout the Asia Pacific region. During this period he conducted numerous computer forensic investigations for a range of multinational clients and law firms in diverse locations from Tokyo to Auckland and from Delhi to Manila.

Alan holds a Graduate Diploma in Computer Forensics and is a board-Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and performs information security reviews to ISO17799 standards.

His professional memberships include:

• High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), where he is currently President of the Asia Pacific chapter;

• International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc (ISC)2;

• The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS);

• Espionage Research Institute (ERI) and

• Business Espionage Countermeasures and Controls Association (BECCA).
