Anthony Hsu is a Vice President with International Risk based in Singapore, primarily overseeing our operations in Singapore and the South East Asia region, but also undertaking assignments in Greater China. He is responsible for the delivery of business intelligence projects, including investigative due diligence, fraud and corporate investigations, and other risk consulting assignments.
Prior to joining International Risk in 2007, Anthony was an Assistant Director with the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) of Singapore. The CPIB is Singapore’s elite anti-corruption agency, and it reports directly to the Prime Minister. Anthony joined the CPIB in 1995 and, during his eleven years of service, he held various investigative, staff and managerial positions in the agency. Progressing through the ranks from an investigator to Assistant Director of the CPIB, Anthony gained experience in various aspects of national law enforcement work, including investigation, prevention, education, staff support, process audits, international treaties and cooperation.
He has conducted many official probes into graft and white-collar crimes in the public and private sectors, as well as investigated fraud and money-laundering offences, and worked closely with Deputy Public Prosecutors in the prosecutions of offenders. During his staff postings at CPIB Anthony was involved in staff training, organizational development and service quality, operational support, public and press liaison, international affairs, corruption prevention and education, review of procedures in external organizations, quality audits, and strategic planning. He also conducted many anti-corruption seminars for both local and foreign organizations.
Anthony holds a B. Sc (Merit) in Microbiology & Biochemistry from the University of Singapore and a Postgraduate Certificate in Corruption Studies (Distinction) from the Hong Kong University. He is also a certified Polygraph (lie detector) Examiner.
In 2003 Anthony was conferred a Singapore National Day Award, the Commendation Medal (Pingat Kepujian), for his contributions to Singapore
He is fluent in English and Chinese (both Putonghua and Hokkien dialect).
