Associate Director, FTI Consulting (Asia) Limited Back to Contacts       Catherine is an Associate Director of Financial Services, FTI Consulting (Asia) Limited, based in Hong Kong. She has extensive experience in consulting, corporate recovery and insolvency management. Catherine has undertaken a wide variety of formal and informal administrations, including court liquidations, voluntary liquidations, receiverships, bankruptcies, forensic investigations, workout schemes and business valuations. She has acted as liquidator in numerous court liquidations in Hong Kong. She has been involved in two of the largest and most sophisticated court liquidations involving Bermudan companies. Both had a principal place of business in Hong Kong, which required in-depth investigations into assets and subsidiaries in various countries. She has also been involved in cases where provisional liquidators were appointed with a view to achieve corporate rescue, and has managed bankruptcies and individual voluntary arrangements of former managing directors of listed and sizable companies. Catherine’s assignments have covered the tracing, management and realisation of assets in various jurisdictions including listed shares, leasehold properties, intellectual properties, pleasure and container vessels, inventories and equipment. Her assignments have also covered extensive investigations relating to the conduct of directors, antecedent transactions, misappropriation of assets and dealing with creditors’ claims. Catherine has also had considerable exposure to forensic investigations and litigation support assignments, which include cases relating to money laundering, potential false or fraudulent misrepresentation by a sizable international investment bank in regard to clients’ investment accounts, and a shareholders’ dispute arising from significant shareholding movements and restructuring of their interests in a group of companies. These assignments entailed the analysing of evidence, preparation of forensic reports to clients and expert report for trial, and assistance to counsel in determining charges. In addition to formal insolvencies and forensic and litigation support assignments, Catherine has assisted the administrator appointed under the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Ordinance in taking over the affairs of a licensed securities dealer, investigating suspected unauthorised dealings with client assets and other irregularities. Her industry experience includes financial services, property investment and management, family trust, education, tourism, entertainment, food and beverage, trading and manufacturing. Catherine has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Sydney. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of CPA Australia.
