Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting (Asia) Limited Back to Contacts       Simon is Senior Managing Director of FTI Consulting (Asia) Limited, based in Hong Kong. Having commenced his accounting career in 1986 with a Big Four accounting firm in London with whom Simon qualified as a chartered accountant, in 1995 he moved to Hong Kong where he was head of the restructuring, insolvency, litigation support and forensic accounting practice of a mid-tier accounting firm. In 2000 Simon was one of two founding shareholders of a boutique restructuring, insolvency, litigation support and forensic accounting practice which was acquired by FTI-International Risk in 2010. Simon has acted as provisional liquidator and liquidator of in excess of 600 Hong Kong incorporated entities and is an approved appointment taker on all the Hong Kong Government Panels. He has extensive experience of acting in cases involving offshore entities and has acted as liquidator and receiver of entities in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands and dealing with assets in the PRC (in particular) but also across the globe. In addition to acting in formal insolvencies, including receiverships, Simon has acted on numerous occasions for banks and companies in informal restructurings. Simon has been involved in a number of complex and high profile dispute cases including assisting the Independent Commission Against Corruption in certain criminal investigations involving listing frauds in respect of which he provided lengthy expert testimony in two trials which led to successful convictions in Hong Kong. He has prepared expert reports and given expert testimony in a number of criminal and commercial matters involving fraud, asset tracing (across multi-jurisdictions) and company valuations (both listed and private) in shareholder disputes and for due diligence purposes. Simon has assisted solicitors and prepared expert reports in complex financial litigations and insurers in calculating losses and defending claims made. Simon is a former member of the Expert Panel of Insolvency Practitioners and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Accountants Complaints Committee.
