Mr. Takashima is a Senior Advisor to International Risk Ltd and is assisting our business development and expansion plans in Japan.
Mr. Takashima served as a Member of the Board of Directors and as Senior Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation. Mr. Takashima’s career with Mitsubishi Corporation spans a total of 41 years. During that time he served in management level positions in the Heavy Machinery, Plant and Shipping, and Development and Construction Divisions before becoming a Member of the Board in 1995. Thereafter, he held executive positions in the Machinery Group and Metals Group and also served as the President and CEO of Mitsubishi Corporation Europe from 2001 to 2002. He was appointed as a Member of the Board and Senior Executive Vice President of the company in 2002 and held that position until 2005.
Mr. Takashima is concurrently Chairman of the Japan-Kazakhstan Economic Committee, a member of the Japan-Korea Business Council and a Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Teikyo University.
Mr. Takashima has extensive experience with socio-economic issues, and is actively involved in the advancement of Japan’s international trade and economic activities. He has developed a wide network which spans from major trading conglomerates to smaller venture enterprises. As a former member of the University of Tokyo Rugby Football Club, Mr. Takashima also presently holds the position of Councilor for the Japan Rugby Football Union.
Mr. Takashima is a graduate of the University of Tokyo (Faculty of Arts in 1964). He speaks English fluently.
